Duration: 1 day/10am-4.30pm
Max number of participants: 8

AIMED AT

The primary goal of this workshop is to develop an ability to create and confidently deliver memorable presentations that effectively convey each participant’s message to his or her audience. This workshop shows how to assess the needs of an audience, use a structured development process to create effective presentation materials and use proven techniques to communicate main points in an interactive manner.

OUTLINE

Every participant is provided with an opportunity to practice the techniques and skills needed to prepare and deliver a great presentation. By the end of the day, the following topics will have been covered:

The techniques to design and build a dynamic presentation with logically ordered objectives

Analysing the environment in which the presentation will be given

Anticipating the differing needs and concerns of everyone in the audience, to ensure that the presentation really ‘hits the spot’

Attracting the audience to your presentation, keeping them interested and drawing attention to your message

Dealing with ‘stage fright’ and nerves, so that they work for you rather than against you

Designing visible, clear and simple presentation visuals and the use of other technology

Taking account of the importance of non-verbal communication during a presentation

The correct use of language for different types of presentations

Using questions and answers within a presentation

Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of your voice, tone and intonation

Identifying helpful versus unhelpful physical mannerisms

Constructing a clear, powerful and influential introduction and conclusion, so that the presentation leaves a lasting impression

Drawing up a checklist for a successful presentation
