Introduction 

Mediating is an invaluable skill in any job. From sales negotiations to workplace disputes to legal arbitration, professionals in a wide range of industries face potential conflicts each day. This one-day meditation workshop helps delegates navigate themselves or their colleagues through these challenging moments. Using diverse simulated mediation role-play situations, practical activities and group work, we help delegates move from confrontation to collaboration.  

Aim By the end of the workshop delegates should be able to demonstrate the necessary mediation tools for understanding a variety of conflicts from multiple perspectives, ensuring the quickest and most effective path to resolution. 

Objectives 

This workshop is performance-based. We try to use a set of performance standards to evaluate the skills of each delegate and can use those standards to let delegates know what they are doing well, what skills they need to develop further, and how to develop these skills. During the workshop, the following topics will be covered: 

  • The Five Phases of Mediation
  • The Mediator’s Role
  • Working with Emotion
  • Questioning Techniques
  • Building Rapport & Encouraging Confidence/Trust
  • Conflict Handling Modes
