EVENT MANAGEMENT

Register your interest in a public group session

We understand individuals and small businesses may not have the resources to book an exclusive group or one-to-one session, so we operate a wait list system. Give us you contact details and when enough people have registered their interest we'll be in touch to organise a date. For most sessions you'll be alongside (virtually that is) no more than five other trainees.

Organise an in-house private course

This is the way most organisations choose to work with us. You get to choose the workshop, nominate who you want to sit the session, fix a time and date that suits everyone and decide whether you want online or in-person delivery. We do the rest – even down to tweaking the training to match your specific needs. All we need is a bit of information about you so click the organise button to get the ball rolling.

Price From £999 per session

Throughout the course, examples and case studies are provided so delegates can understand the nature and complexity of various parts of event management better. Numerous exercises are also provided to help delegates immediately apply the techniques to a particular event that they plan to manage. The course is suitable for both those who are new to the field as well as for those delegates who have some event management experience, but are looking to gain new insights, refresh their event management style and strategies, or to develop a more professional approach to managing your events.

CONTENT

  • What is involved in managing an event - all of the key elements to consider
  • Planning - what should you consider before making any plans - conducting an event needs analysis
  • Developing an event management plan, what is your aim, what are your objectives?
  • What, if any, are the risks involved - completing an event risk assessment [unfortunately, we now live in a very litigious era].
  • Budgetary considerations - how to control the uncontrollable
  • Who is going to help you? The value of partners, sponsors, volunteers, past delegates.
  • Who can you delegate to, are you a procrastinator - managing your time appropriately [in addition to all the other task you need to complete, if event management isn't your sole role within your organisation]
  • Innovative ways in which to obtain sponsorship
  • Choosing the appropriate venue, or, if you don't have a choice, making the best of the venue you have to use
  • Catering considerations - nothing like food to determine the success or otherwise of your event!
  • Guest speakers, entertainers - do you need others to attract delegates? And, if so, how will you do this?
  • How will you market and promote your event?
  • What happens during the event - roles?
  • Post event - feedback & evaluation - how well did you do; how to thank the team; how to make the most of those who have attended; lessons to be learnt before the next event!
