TRAIN THE TRAINER

Register your interest in a public group session

We understand individuals and small businesses may not have the resources to book an exclusive group or one-to-one session, so we operate a wait list system. Give us you contact details and when enough people have registered their interest we'll be in touch to organise a date. For most sessions you'll be alongside (virtually that is) no more than five other trainees.

Organise an in-house private course

This is the way most organisations choose to work with us. You get to choose the workshop, nominate who you want to sit the session, fix a time and date that suits everyone and decide whether you want online or in-person delivery. We do the rest – even down to tweaking the training to match your specific needs. All we need is a bit of information about you so click the organise button to get the ball rolling.

Price From £799 per session

AIM

This course is ideal for those who are required to effectively train employees, colleagues or clients in an interesting, engaging, brain-friendly and confident manner, in a way that is practical and which will help delegates to gain new skills, knowledge and understanding. In an environment where organisations are having to do more with less, and where the training budget is stretched to the limit, developing existing staff so that they can take on the role of ‘in-house’ trainer, makes good sense.

CONTENT

By the end of this workshop, through small group activities, whole group exercises and practical sessions, you should be able to demonstrate a solid understanding and appreciation of the following topics:

  • The qualities & traits of a good trainer

  • How to create an effective learning environment – physical & psychological aspects

  • The characteristics of adult learners and how they differ from children

  • Different learning styles and how best to match these to the learner

  • Knowing your learners, personality, world views

  • Motivational considerations – what to do when someone doesn’t want to be at the training course, conscripts v volunteers to the course!

  • Communication skills, barriers and styles

  • Managing challenging and/or difficult learners

  • Training methods - active v passive

  • Training strategies - strengths & weaknesses of each

  • Effective questioning skills

  • Using training aids – pros & cons

  • Key components of a training plan

  • Aims, objectives and how to write them in an observable and measurable manner [Bloom’s Taxonomy]

  • Effectively ending the training session – your last chance to make a positive impression
